Want to know where to play shuffleboard in Oslo, the European home of shuffleboard?  Oslo has a special place in our hearts because this is where our SHUFL. story began.

It’s a well-known fact that Norwegians know their way around a shuffleboard and, as you’d expect, they’re pretty spoilt for choice when it comes to where to play shuffleboard in Oslo. Check out our ultimate guide, featuring some world-class SHUFL. hotspots.

Go big or go home at Oslo’s Telegrafen. There’s a whopping 3000 sqm of games, food and drink on offer with no less than 7 tables (including a Bank Shot) and modern darts all under one roof. Telegrafen was launched in 2020 to cater for Oslo’s business community hosting work meetings, conferences and events as well as being THE place to go for big groups.

It’s the city’s most stylish venue, where they don’t do things by halves, with a restaurant, three bars and lots of meeting rooms to suit all occasions.  Housed in a beautiful 1920s heritage building, formerly the national telephone exchange, it’s Norway’s ultimate eat, drink, play experience. Read more about it in our partner profile here.

Fire in your belly? Play with fire at Kullt on one of six of our finest 22 footers and fill up on tasty flame-grilled, barbecued meat, fish and seafood cooked on Norway’s largest indoor charcoal grill. Kullt’s another big player in the city’s social scene in the heart of Oslo right by Rådhusplassen, overlooking Aker Brygge and Kontraskjæret.

With an impressive bar as its centrepiece, classic cocktails, signature drinks, and a large selection of beers and wines accompany the epic food offer.  Cool off in the summer and take in the stunning views from Kullt’s rooftop beer garden out towards Honnørbryggen and the fjord.

As well as shuffleboard, games lovers can play billiards, pinball and darts, plus there are also DJs on Friday and Saturday nights There’s plenty of room for parties here too – they’ll cater for up to 220 people.

Culture vultures – this one’s for you: Kulturhuset i Oslo Youngs Gate 6 is a cool cultural centre for the experience hungry. Translating as ‘culture house’, Kulturhuset is on a mission to bring people together to share experiences – these guys are completely on our wavelength!

It’s a 2000m2 hive of activity, split over three floors with four bars, dedicated rooms and a backyard open air space.  Pay the third floor a visit and discover the play room, featuring four of our Championship-grade full-size tables.

Kulturhuset will give you a real taste of the Oslo cultural scene with a dynamic programme of debates, live concerts, dancing and games.  Plus, there’s great coffee, drinks and a food menu showcasing Nordic flavours and healthy sustainable seasonal produce – and did we mention waffles and ice cream?  The venue is also home to Oslo’s most social open office space – we’re just not sure how much work you’d get done there?!

One for the beer lovers: Beer Palace, Holmens gt.3, has an impressive 34 taps and a beer selection to die for.  We challenge you not to find a beer you love here, just ask the bartender to help you navigate the bewildering selection.

So now you’ve selected your beer you can slide on over to one of two 22ft Grand Champion shuffleboards and let some pucks fly.  Ready to sample another pint from Beer Palace’s vast selection?  You can also catch a game of football on one of the big screens, play darts or if it’s 7pm on a Sunday then you can try and bag at prize at their regular pub quiz.  Feeling peckish?  Order a burger from neighbouring Burger Joint on the pub’s app.

If a visit to Beer Palace has given you a thirst for more beer knowledge, you can always book onto one of their International Beer Tasting courses and brush up on your beer knowledge.

More beer here, at Royal Gastropub! Its royal associations come from it being housed in the Kongen’s old waiting room (Kongen is Norwegian for King) in Østbanehallen – Oslo’s largest transport hub, next door to Oslo Central Station and Jernbanetorget. They are serving up tasty dishes and beer from all corners of the world, combined with a good selection of local and own brews.

The owners of the Royal Gastropub are the same people behind the renowned Amundsen Brewery, Oslo’s largest microbrewery, so as you’d expect there’s a good selection of Amundsen beers too. Royal serves about 20 different beers on tap and around 50 different varieties by bottle. Grab yourself a beer and a set of pucks and get a game in on one of two SHUFL. 22 footers.

If you’re just visiting and looking for somewhere to stay then we can recommend Quality Hotel Hasle Linie. Situated just outside Oslo’s compact city centre in Oslo’s central district of Hasle between Carl Berner, Løren, Sinsen and Tøyen, it has easy access to everything this Nordic capital has to offer.

With a restaurant and bar at the hotel, you don’t even need to leave if you don’t want to!  In fact, we think you might find it hard to, since it has an 18ft Gentry in situ, not to mention a great restaurant fusing French brasserie cooking with Nordic cuisine and a bar with an outdoor terrace for soaking up the sunshine with a cold drink.  That’s all of your eat, drink, play needs met, plus you can workout at the spacious gym and then fall into bed!

To avoid disappointment, we’d advise that you check-in with individual venues regarding booking policies.
