Where to play SHUFL in Manchester

3rd September 2019SHUFL Community

Manchester, we’ve got you covered!  Whether your favourite drink is a cocktail or a craft beer, here’s our pick of the SHUFL hotspots shaking up the Mancunian bar scene.

If you find yourself in the vicinity of Deansgate with a few hours to spare, then Roxy Ballroom, 76-78 Deansgate is not to be missed.  The ultimate 21st Century games emporium experience, it features two of our finest 18ft tournament standard shuffleboards.

Players can ‘sip and slide’ with one of their game-themed signature cocktails, then celebrate with a champion’s feast sharer of classic pizza slices, BBQ chicken wings, mac & cheese bites, fried onion rings, garlic bread and fully loaded fries.

Our SHUFL tables are in great company with a vast 18-hole mini golf course, beer pong, pool tables and Olympic standard ping pong tables, making it perhaps the most comprehensive social gaming offer in the UK.  Part of the Roxy Leisure Group, there are sister bars in Leeds, Nottingham and Liverpool.  Sign up on their website to bag some summer discounts including an hour’s SHUFLin’ for the bargain price of £5.

One for the beer lovers, The Gas Works Brew Bar is built on the site of the old Gaythorn Gas Works and is part of the recently developed First Street.  From the Manchester-based team behind The Dockyard pubs, Gas Works draws on its industrial heritage with a modern twist.  Its crown jewel is the in-house brewery. On full display for all to see, visitors can see beer crafted by hand and served direct from tank to tap.

Pick your pint from a vast selection of guest and home-brewed beers, pucker up and get SHUFL’in on two of our largest Grand Champion 22ft tables. From Wednesday to Saturday, they’re £15 per hour or £10 per half hour, Tuesdays and Sundays are £10 per hour or £7 per half hour.  Free to play every Monday and with free-to-enter tournaments bi-weekly on Wednesday evenings with prizes for the winners, there’s no reason not to get your SHUFL on.

Head north-east from First Street towards Spinningfields and you’ll eventually find your way to sister bar The Dockyard, Left Bank, Irwell Street, a rustic ale house offering relaxed dining. Here, you’ll find the same passion and love of beer along with two 18ft Grand Champion SHUFL tables. Slide into the weekend by combining a game of shuffleboard with a scrumptious Saturday morning brunch or round it off with a lazy Sunday Roast for some pretty damn perfect weekend socialising.

Next up, we’re going underground to the newest addition to the Manchester shuffleboard scene: 7 Sins, Lever Street, Northern Quarter.  This subterranean basement arcade bar is designed to lure you into its lair with neon lights and bold graffiti, themed on the seven deadly sins.  Devilishly delicious cocktails; sinful burgers, sharers and brunches; and gluttonous desserts of cherry and marshmallow cheesecake ensure that this bar lives up to its name.  But wait… stay awhile, can we tempt you to a competitive game of SHUFL on the 14ft Grand Champion shuffleboard table?

Manchester, it’s SHUFL time!
